    Analysis of ΛN+N events (1)

    Here, we try to analyze ΛN (case1-180deg)+N(on TC) events. Later, we can extend it to ΛN (case2-90deg)+N(on PB-NT) to cover another angular region.

    Advantage of ΛNN coincidence measurement

    In order to investigate further the nature of the observed spctrum strengths, the ΛNN events are effectively used as follows:

    1. Separation of reaction final state by MM(ΛNN) - we can distinguish wheter the missing particles are N / N+π / N+γ.

    2. Separation of 3S/2S/4NA (Process group α)VS 3NA/2NA+ΣΛ conv/2NA(Λ)+elastic rescattering (Process group β), by IM(ΛNN) - the former reactions do not have any spectator, so that we do not expect a sub-threshold peak in the IM(ΛNN) spectrum corresponding to the spectator momentum, if the former reaction dominates each component. If the latter dominates, we expect ≈50% of events clusters to the sub-threshold peak structure. Then another ≈50% corresponds to the case that the spectator is also detected, and a participant is missing. It should be noted that this separation can be applyed only if the final state is ensured as ΛNNN by MM(ΛNN).

    Therefore, we are highly interested in the issues:

  • Which final state dominates A/B/C components?
  • and finally
  • Which reaction group dominates A/B/C components?
  • Therefore, we try to construct MM(ΛNN) and IM(ΛNN) with

    1. Λ p (case1 180deg) + n (on TC),

    2. Λ n (case1 180deg) + n (on TC),

    and

    3. Λ n (case1 180deg) + p (on TC) events.

    The similar analysis is possible in future for case2-90deg topology -

    4. Λ p (case2 90deg) + n (on NT),

    5. Λ n (case2 90deg) + n (on NT),

    6. Λ n (case2 90deg) + p (on PA-PB-NT),

    where the best mass resolutions are expected.
