Spectrum Normalization (1) -discussion on the normalization of proton/deuteron/&Lambda inclusive spectra by Kaon free decay rate: E570

In the experiment, we can normalize proton/deuteron/&Lambda inclusive spectrum, based on the observed K&mu 2 peak area. The formulation/procedure are given here. It is concluded that the normalization can be actually performed without any ambiguity. The possible source of systematics would be:

1. Tracking efficiency. When charged particle multiplicity is large in a final state, basically tracking efficiency decrease due to higher multiplicity of the hit. The ineffic inefficiency does not exist for K-->&mu- &nu events.

2. Accuracy of the proton/&pi-/deuteron in-flight cross-section with surrounding materials activated within the Monte-Carlo code.
